Train Fire Marshals in realistic warehouse fire scenarios—based on OSHA & NFPA standards.

The Warehouse Fire VR simulation delivers hands-on, immersive training for designated Fire Marshals and employees assigned fire response duties. Developed in line with U.S. safety regulations—including OSHA 29 CFR 1910.38(e) and NFPA Emergency Action Plans (Module 4)—this application helps build real-life skills for high-risk situations without putting workers in danger.

Scenario 1 – You discover a fire: Trainees are placed in a realistic warehouse setting where they identify signs of fire, activate the fire alarm, and—only if safe and instructed to do so—attempt to suppress the fire using portable extinguishers or fire hose reels. A virtual instructor reinforces key safety rules, like maintaining a safe distance from flames and avoiding smoke inhalation.

Scenario 2 – You hear a fire alarm: Participants follow evacuation procedures as outlined in their company’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP). They exit their work area, assist co-workers, sweep shared zones to ensure no one is left behind, and report to the designated assembly point. Along the way, trainees encounter hazards and learn when evacuating takes priority over firefighting.

This VR module is ideal for EHS teams, warehouse supervisors, and facility Fire Marshals who need to stay compliant, ready, and confident in their emergency response duties. Realistic scenarios, voice control, and intuitive hand tracking make it a powerful tool for workforce safety training in industrial environments.

Training Program

Part I. Training Objective

The goal of this training is to prepare employees assigned as Fire Marshals (or equivalent roles: EHS Coordinator, Floor Warden, Evacuation Leader) to respond effectively to workplace fires and ensure a safe evacuation process. The course builds skills in hazard assessment, alarm activation, fire suppression (when appropriate), and coordinating evacuation according to OSHA 29 CFR §1910.38(e) and NFPA Emergency Action Plans – Module 4. Virtual reality allows participants to practice life-critical actions in a safe, immersive environment.

This training is intended for:

  • Fire Marshals and designated emergency response personnel,

  • Evacuation team members and floor wardens,

  • Shift supervisors and team leaders,

  • EHS specialists and safety coordinators,

  • Warehouse and industrial workers responsible for fire evacuation and emergency protocols.

Part II. VR Scenario 1 – “Discovering a Fire” (15 minutes)
An interactive simulation where the trainee:

  • Detects signs of fire (smoke, flames, burning smells),

  • Triggers the fire alarm system (pull station),

  • Decides whether it is safe and authorized to use a fire extinguisher or hose reel,

  • Assesses risks to themselves and others,

  • Initiates evacuation procedures if suppression is not possible.

Hands-on training includes:

  • Safe extinguisher handling using the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep),

  • Dynamic fire behavior and real-time risk escalation,

  • Use of voice commands and hand tracking within the VR environment.

Part III. VR Scenario 2 – “Hearing a Fire Alarm” (15 minutes)
A realistic workplace evacuation scenario where the trainee:

  • Leaves their work area via designated escape routes,

  • Sweeps common spaces (break rooms, restrooms, corridors) to ensure no one is left behind,

  • Assists coworkers with disabilities or mobility limitations,

  • Encounters hazards along the way (smoke, debris, blocked exits),

  • Reports to the designated assembly point and communicates with emergency services.

Hands-on training includes:

  • Crawling low in smoke-filled environments,

  • Decision-making when escape routes are compromised,

  • Interaction with the virtual instructor for live feedback and coaching.

Where will this training be useful?

This VR module can be used not only for Fire Marshal certification but also as part of general workplace safety training. It is ideal for:

  • New hire orientation programs (as part of OSHA-required fire response education),

  • Annual fire safety refreshers for all employees,

  • General EHS or fire prevention training conducted by safety professionals,

  • Evacuation drills and internal preparedness programs.

Whether you're training designated Fire Marshals or educating your broader workforce, Warehouse Fire – Fire Marshal Training reinforces essential knowledge and practical behaviors that save lives in emergency situations.
